A pregnant sales manager who was told “nobody wants to see a pregnant woman” by her boss has won her discrimination claim, a tribunal has ruled. 

The panel heard the comment was made to Jessica Morgan, who worked at Panelex Wood Agency, an independent wood supplier based in Swansea, by her manager, Frederick Hawkes, after she offered to help with a client presentation. 

The tribunal described Hawkes’s remarks as “inherently discriminatory”, suggesting that the way a pregnant woman looks will make her “off putting” to clients.
