French government's plan against racism, antisemitism and discrimination not ambitious enough, activits say

The government unveiled on Monday the new national plan to fight racism, antisemitism and discrimination. The 55 measures are to be implemented between 2026 and 2029.

On Monday, July 6, at the French National Library Richelieu site in Paris, Aurore Bergé, minister for gender equality and the fight against discrimination, presented the government's new national plan to fight racism, antisemitism and discrimination based on origin (PRADO). The plan, consisting of 55 measures, is set to be implemented between 2026 and 2029. Alongside her were Edouard Geffray, minister of national education; Françoise Gatel, minister for regional planning and decentralization; Marie-Pierre Vedrenne, junior minister for citizenship at the Interior Ministry; and George Pau-Langevin, deputy to the Defender of Rights.
